The market scale of China's sensor industry has exceeded 1 trillion, and there is an urgent
"Without perception, there is no way to talk about intelligence. Perception is not only the starting point of the Internet of things, but also the starting point of the era of intelligence and high-quality development." Recently, Yang Xueshan, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of industry and information technology, pointed out at the 2018 International (Xuzhou) sensor and Internet of things industry summit.
Since last year, China's Internet of things market has entered a substantive stage of development. The annual market scale exceeded 1 trillion yuan, with an annual compound growth rate of more than 25%. The McKinsey report points out that by 2025, the economic benefits brought by the Internet of things will be between $2.7 trillion and $6.2 trillion.
Sensors are the key components of the Internet of things to collect data. According to incomplete statistics, China has about 12000 kinds of sensitive elements and sensors of scientific research achievements, technologies and products, and about 7000 kinds of conventional types and varieties. With the development of the Internet of things, the sensor industry will also usher in an explosion. In the next five years, the average annual compound growth rate of China's sensor industry will reach 30%, much higher than the global average.
However, most of the sensors mainly used in China's market still rely on imports, and the mainstream market products rely on foreign supporting facilities is particularly prominent. "Compared with foreign countries, there is still a big gap in product quality, process level, production equipment, enterprise scale, market share and comprehensive competitiveness of domestic sensors. Compared with the international advanced level, the development of new sensors is 5 to 10 years behind, and the technology and process of industrialized large-scale production are 10 to 15 years behind." Guo Yuansheng, vice chairman of China sensor and Internet of things industry alliance, said.
It is reported that among the nearly 5000 domestic instrument enterprises, more than 1600 produce and manufacture sensitive components and sensors to varying degrees. Science and engineering colleges, universities and scientific research institutions in various provinces and cities in China have developed sensors and produced sensitive components and sensors in small batches to varying degrees. However, due to the high proportion of non professional enterprises, sensors are only ancillary products in enterprises, with relatively low output value and insufficient attention. At present, the enterprises producing sensors with an output value of more than 100 million yuan account for only 13% of the total number of enterprises, less than 200 in China, and less than 3% of professional manufacturers with complete product types.
Guo Yuansheng believes that domestic sensor enterprises lack deep understanding and participation ability in product technology and industrial scale, have biased and one-sided understanding of sensors, and lack entrepreneurs with strong strength and strategic vision. Secondly, because the sensor is a multi-disciplinary high-tech polymer, there are many kinds of products and small batch, many enterprises but small scale. In addition, domestic sensor enterprises generally lack core technology and independent intellectual property rights, and lack high-end talents, especially international leaders.
In view of the development status and existing problems of the domestic sensor industry, Guo Yuansheng believes that in the future, sensors should make breakthroughs in two directions: process technology and application. He suggested that the sensor industry should combine regional characteristics and advantages to build a "double ecological" industrial chain and form an international sensor Industrial Park - sensor valley. In 5 to 10 years, gather more than 100 companies and scientific research institutes to form characteristic industrial clusters or bases, design professional sensor products with outstanding industrial advantages, and form a powerful international industrial park. At the same time, build a dual ecological system integrating politics, industry, learning, research, application and service, and realize the cluster development of sensor industrialization and industry revitalization.
